The Maker Skills Academy is the ultimate Gap Year program for those who want to learn an incredible range of hands-on career skills. The best part is that it only takes six months and open to everyone 16 and older. Plus, you will be in an incredibly creative environment, learning a wide range of in-demand skills, and have the opportunity to practice in a world-class prototyping facility.
The Maker Skills Academy is perfect for those who want to differentiate themselves, learn a breadth of fundamental hands-on skills, and become much more desirable to employers.
Employers today are looking for those with a breadth of hands-on skills AND soft skills. Maker Skills Academy was created to meet the needs of a career-centric workforce. Our goals are to teach real world skills, get our students career ready, and show them the amazing opportunities in the world of making. But it’s not just about the skills you will learn, it is also about creating the right attitude toward work and being productive. Our real-world program covers all the soft skills basics.
In addition, the economy and workplace are changing at a rapid pace. Robots and automation are coming for those with a single skill or no skills. It’s simple, we believe that either robots can take your job or robots can BE your job! The only way to be future-proof is being multi-skilled.
But this program is not just for those looking for careers. Maker Skills Academy is for artists, inventors, entrepreneurs, and others looking to gain an uncommon, and very valuable, set of skills. Our program can also give those considering engineering schools an incredible advantage. We would be happy to tell you why.
